**The Commercial Vehicle Inspection Program (CVIP) in Alberta is a mandatory program that requires commercial vehicles to undergo regular inspections to ensure they meet safety standards. The program covers vehicles such as trucks, buses, and trailers that are registered in Alberta and have a gross vehicle weight of more than 4,500 kg. The inspections are conducted by authorized inspection facilities, and vehicles must pass the inspection before they can be operated on Alberta roads. The inspections include checks on the vehicle’s brakes, tires, lights, and other systems to ensure they are in safe working condition.
